OK I need some detailed directions on how to do the following. Like what kind of wiring, fuses, and how to connect everything, please.

1) I got a new Radar Detector and its made to power from the Cig Lighter. I want to cut the Cig Lighter Adapter off and run it to the fuse box and then to a switch on my console. How can I do this?

2) I want to hook my Fog Lights up to the fuse box and then toa switch on my console (just the Fog's). How do I do this?

Thanks guys.

Yea I got the radar detector wiring down. Going to attach it infront of the rear view mirror, run the +/- wires down the pillar, behind the dash and come up behind the CD Player and into the Pocket. I'm going to be using a little square switch that lights up faintly, and it has 3 prongs (Power, ACC, Ground).

- Run the Radar Detector Red (+ wire) into the ACC of the Switch
- Run the Switch Power (+ wire) to the CD Player Red (+ wire)
- Run the Radar Detector Ground (- wire) into the CD Player Ground (- wire)
- Run the Switch Ground (- wire) to the CD Player Ground (- wire)

John helped me with that wiring. My only problem is that my car isn't back from the Shop yet, so I have no idea what the Wire/Plugs look like in the back of the CD Player, if they are Plugs I have no idea how to connect the wires in, but if its just bare wire that would obviously be easy.

====================

I'm still unsure of how to connect my Fog Lights to a switch. I could use help there. Thanks bro.

For the radar detector, you'll want probably run the switch power (+ wire) to the gray(switched +12 volts) wire on the cd player, rather than the red one, which is the right rear positive speaker wire. You could also wire the radar detector into your fuse panel if you wanted, but either way will work.

For the fog lights, you'll probably want to find a switch, and then hookup the switch ground to any good ground, wire the +12 volts wire from the fogs to one terminal of the switch, and then the other terminal of the switch could be wired to a fuse that's in your interior fuse panel. This may or may not work however, depending on what kind of fog lights they are, because all fog lights have different wiring. If you've got a wiring diagram for the fog ligthts and could post it on here, I'm sure that we could provide a lot more help. smile.gif
