QUOTE(presure2 @ Dec 16, 2007 - 9:17 AM) interesting plans alan. i would go with the e153, not so much because of clutch size (its only 11mm diffrence between the s54 (225mm) VS the e153 (236mm) but because of gearing. if your planning on tracking the car (which i hope you are) you'll be better served by the e153 gearing. Yeah me to man I no it has better gearing but the clutch sizes does matter apart from that you dont find many good clutches for the S54 The only problem Is the tranny is $1100 from my country abit expensive for another tranny and ill prob break it haha -------------------- |

I see them, but you should really just get a valve job done on the head, and port match it while its off...."keeping it stock to see how much can be done" has already been done, and its something that will just kink your progress later.
though that head looks clean as a whistle now This post has been edited by playr158: Jan 4, 2008 - 2:50 PM |

Coming along nicely! as for an intake manifold you have a 3rd gen head right? im pretty sure a 4th gen caldina manifold would be your best bet.

I dont know how much power I can make out of the 3SGE head I never used it when it was turbo, I am only polishing the ports ect, but the later work would include bigger cams, porting race spec, HKS valve springs, and ferrea valves, retainers ect, but this will be done when I conver it to AWD, as I am also doing that QUOTE(x_itchy_b_x @ Jan 4, 2008 - 2:50 PM) Coming along nicely! as for an intake manifold you have a 3rd gen head right? im pretty sure a 4th gen caldina manifold would be your best bet. check out this thread. Wow, never seen that manifold, F**king amazing, do you think I could get one second hand :S, or will it have to be new :S, that manifold is cool, thanks alot -------------------- |
