Today seems like a good day to pull my celi out of the garage I havent started it in 3 or 4 weeks, is there anything I should do before i try cranking her?
Also while am here, I was just doing some maintenance work prior to getting a tune: -spark plugs -dizzy cap and rotor arm -changed oil -flushed and replaced coolant -Vacuum lines -Cleaned all grounds -degunked intercooler Anything else i should adress before visiting the tunner? -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

take out your efi fuse. crank the car for 30sec or untill you see oil pressure (if you have a gauge). then put the fuse back in and start her up. stuff in your list seems like a good idea to do.

Thanks Lagos! I would forget to prime up that turbo up and i bet it dried up over that period of time. -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

ist not just the turbo. all the oil drains out of the head of the motor, and if you dont prime it, it will run without any oil for a few seconds. its not the end of the world, but it will wear on your motor much faster.

Ah I did not know that, and when i beat on my car while driving, i baby it with maintenance so i surely will prime it up. I dont have a oil psi gauge (yet) so ill just do about 30 sec worth of cranking like you advised. As far as tune prep. should i change any gaskets or retorque any bolts ? -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

you shouldnt crank the engine for more than 15s at a time as it can overheat the starter and circuitry. i would do 2 or 3 10s intervals and you should be good to go.

I started mine today after a month and the turbo wheel wouln't even move for a few seconds. It loosened later and now spins fast even on low idle.
