Hey,
I am going to be doing a 3sgte swap to my 1994 Celica ST (coupe). Ive done most of the research but i constantly get either misinformation or contradicting facts. I am to understand that the 3sgte bolts easily into the '94 ST's engine bay, and it can use the same mounts as the original engine did (7afe I think?). I was wondering if anyone could clarify this for me, and if so, if anyone might know where I could acquire some new motor mounts for the swap. I am also looking to custom fit a front mount intercooler to the front of the car, and was wondering if anyone knew how feasable this is, and also where to get some custom piping if so? Lastly, Ive been reading about the transmissions that you can swap with, and I was wondering what the best one to do with this particular swap. I was planning on using the 2nd gen. tranny because it comes with the engine, and seems to be the easiest to do it with. whats the best option when it comes to this? Thanks, Will |

1. The engine will swap directly into a GT. Not an ST like yours. You will need to do some extra fabrication but it is doable.
2. You can fit a FMIC but you will need to get the right one or else there will be more fab work involved to the Bumper and crash bar. 3. You can not use the tranny that comes with the motor unless you get is converted to FWD or unless the clip/motor set you get comes from a MR2T in which case you will need additional fab work to make the rear tranny mount work. See the how-to section and the stickies available for more information. Almost all of what you posted above is incorrect. -------------------- ![]() |
