Bleah, I had to email them twice. I can tell from the start of things that they didn't care about the 6GC because when I first asked them they said they already had one out and gave me the link to Car Excess's kit line. Too bad this club wasn't founded around the 7th generation Celica. So anyways, I hit them back up explaining that we're all about the 6th Generation (1994-1999) for the second time. They didn't even bother telling me no, that they wouldn't do it at all. Here's what they said:
"I see, you can modify the 1992 to 1995 Honda Civic VDC to work with your car. By modift we mean minor drilling to match the mount points of your cars door and chassis." Basically, they said "screw you". I think anyways. Anyhow, I tried. Sorry to you guys who thought about getting them. |

um... actually that is not screw you. that is more like you can do what every other car has to do other than civics. it seriously is MINOR drilling. you take the hinge of your door off, take your door off, align the thing correctly, drill into your chassis( i think its like 2 holes or something) then bolt everything back into place, and you have scissor doors. it is a true bolt on for the cars it comes for. no need for a mechanic or anything. a monkey could do it. for our cars, since it isnt a perfect bolt on, you might need a mechanic or a body guy to make sure it is perfect, but im not doubting that anyone whos handy couldnt make it work. im gonna be looking into getting one pretty soon, prolly before the HIN in october. hopin i can kick some ass. and no they dont make one for a 7th gen either. im guessing what that company does is just buys a bunch of VDC's for like a civics and makes whatever mods it needs to bolt onto a 7th gen. its supposedly not very difficult to customize this thing, as there are only so many ways to make a car door open, and i bet its pretty close to standardized. the thing is it costs so much ($1500) and very few ppl are willin to drop that kinda cash on makin their doors open a cool way. well, if somebody does it before me i would like to know how difficult it is, any tips, ect.

droool... now that i have seen it, i must do it. that is soooo damn fine! i bet his was custom tho. does not look like the DeCah hinge. i might be wrong but i thought the DeCah was just one gas shock, and it looks like 2 small ones in that pic. but now we know that it has been done, and IMO it looks pretty sweet!
