oh and i would LOVE to see someone run a faster 1/4 on the street then on a prepped track..that make sense laugh.gif

you know what he means. hes talking about from a roll, which is what most "street racing" is

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

what i meant was... that prio has the HP for a mid 13s run. the real problem with the 3s swap is that its got way too much torque for a fwd setup. so you end up with poor results because of the traction problems.

hell, jeff did 13.9. its all about driver skill and tires.

ill give you a great example. local dyno owners have a 500hp del sol. he said they went to the track and ran in the 13s on street tires spinning in ever gear. yet on the street the car kills EVERYTHING . with a proper tire and suspension setup, it would probably be a 10sec car or close to it.

lol poor results from traction problems?

we're able to get 250+ whp Jettas and Golfs down the track pretty well....
SRT4 guys pwn you in torque and seam to do it pretty well too....
just have to learn how to launch and drive...and for god sakes get some drag radials at least....
i'm not saying that traction isn't a problem at all...but its not as big as you try and make it out to be...

LOL yes please go tell someone you drive a 12 second car "from a 35mph roll on" stick to the context kiddo
and side note "most street racing" in the DC metro area and surrounding is from a DIG so i wouldn't try blanket comments wink.gif

but this is getting off topic from the point of
"you can't say its a X second car if it hasn't been able to go X seconds so far"

racing on paper is for dummies

*sigh* rolleyes.gif maybe if i wasnt being a puss through 1st and 2nd gear i would have broke 13.8 but i dont think im going back to the track for a LONG time. i get the impression my car hates it there, and i dont think the track was prepped much.

i definately broke somethign though going to try to get under it tonight. its been overheating lately too idk why though...

Screw the 1/4 mile. That's not the only way to measure the worth of a sports car.

Jeff wasn't that far off. Someone on here will hit it. How many of us have 300+ HP and post their times?

LOL jeff was a good bit off....

.4 seconds faster is a good amount of car lengths + mph...that takes a good bit more to get to from 13.9

also on every run but one piro had someone in the car, including me for one(which was fu##ing awesome) How much does 150-180 ext lbs affect, prob not that much, but yeah i thought he did well, only thing i saw was the traction, i cant wait to get mine on the track i'll have my swap done and complete by start summer or mid summer.

oh yeah piro won 4 races i know, mustang, crx, integra, damn maybe it was threee dont remember the last car

great start for your first time keep ya head up matt, got more balls then most people do with their cars

huh? The "claimed" srt-4 1/4mile time is 13.50 with slicks, ive never personally seen a stock srt-4 break a 13 without slicks on their cars. all fwd cars have traction issues. If you see none of those fast cars at the track are fwd, cause they blow asshole. Traction issues are issues in any car that makes over like 150hp (thats not your car)

So when is your celica gonna stop looking like the turd i rolled out of my ass last night?
And when is it actually going to be fast?
kthx

Well Dan. Since you like to speak so much for me. If you look above at that time slip it states a trap speed of 102 MPH. I have trapped in my car 104 MPH while still running in the 14's. What you are to narrow minded to realize is that I ran my car at Island Dragway. With cheap tires and at only 12 psi.

Island dragway is a little hole in the wall track with no major sponsors. The Staging area in a mess, ruts, holes, uneven pavment. Not to mention they spray that track with VHT one time a year. We run there because we dont have to wait for 3,000 other cars to run.

The times at this track are much slower than if we would run at englishtown. I'm dieing to get some runs there. Without a doubt I'd hit 13's everytime on street tires. But time and other responsibilities are holding me back from running there. I am setting aside time this year to run there. If I can get my new tires it will be on street tires, if not then the slicks will come out.

Anyone that has actually ran at Island can chime in here on the conditions of the staging area.

To sum up, a number of different factors come into play when looking at a time slip. We will never take off as well as a RWD car. But we certainly can run in the 13's with our setups. With out any doubt in my mind. Dan you may have driven a swapped celi a couple of times, wait till you own one. wink.gif

Please don't mention my name in your discussion. I can speak for myself.
Thanks smile.gif

like i said it would take you a bit more....better tires, different track, more boost?!
whats your excuse going to be next time?.... and my point was that .4 sec on the other side of 14.0 is a considerable amount of time and track space....i don't give a **** about your car nor did i say anything about it mr panty bunch rolleyes.gif at least i gave u the credit of a 13.9 laugh.gif

oh and MR. BIll
if you've never seen a SRT4 without slicks break into the 13s...how come i know a guy with an SRT4 who runs lower 13s on street tires?!
