I have the gators all the way.... This next round should be pretty good -- there hasnt been much "madness" yet. I think UNLV can pull the upset over Oregon for some reason .. they're playing really well right now.

This year's tournament has been dissappointing. Probably the worst tournament played in a REALLY long time. No cinderella story this year. Just lame. Couldn't beat last year's George Mason team makin it to the final four. 2007 was a snoozefest.

My favorite tourney in a long time... I loved having a Final Four of two number ones and two number twos.... The best teams all year are now showcasing each other.... All real basketball fans should appreciate that more than a cinderella team -------------------- |

Most people that dont know much about basketball like the cinderella stories so they can cheer for the underdog. Even though not many huge upsets, a large majority of games have been good high caliber basketball. I loved betting on college ball this year ... pretty consistent plays. (Even though g-town won me some good money .. they shouldnt have won that game where i think it was ewing or green travelled the last play of the game) Who do you think will win the championship -- im on Florida obviously - (Oden gets in foul trouble too fast) |

The upsets, and trust me. I have more knowledge of sports than you credit me for. The fact that the favorites always wins just makes it lame and boring and too predictable. That's why the NBA is lame. There are no surprises, there are no cinderella stories. The fact that college basketball was on the verge of extinction (when i say extinction, i mean the college stars) shows how downhill college basketball has come over the years. The fact that the NCAA and the NBA had to make a rule that stated that high school players were no longer eligible to enter the NBA draft shows how much college basketball has fallen. Without that new rule, there would be no Kevin Durant and Greg Oden in college basketball. Why else would the NBA look outside the country for future talent? Without the cinderella stories, college basketball is nothing. Without the underdogs, Jimmy Valvano and the Cadillac Kids of NC State in 1983 would have been meaningless. Or the 1985 Villanova team which won the national championship while being just an 8 seed would have been just another game. These games are the games that stick in your head the longest. That is what college basketball is all about. Only people that don't appreciate the game of college basketball wouldnt appreciate the upsets and the cinderella stories. There would still be an Oden AND a Durant.... Both players would've headed to college regardless. Durant wasn't THAT amazing in highschool... He's worked his ass off to get where's he's at and Greg Oden stated he would attend college a while back before the rule if I'm correct... Cinderella's are indeed nice and boost the games overall picture... But I think championships are SUPPOSED to be between the best teams... After all, they deserve it

After all, they deserve it Greg Oden only stated that he was going to attend Ohio State because of the rule and him and Connelly wanted to go to the same school. He would have gone pro in a heartbeat and i'm SURE Durant would have too. Oden was exposed in this year's tournament and in my eyes way overrated right now. Better go back to school. The womens NCAA tournament has proven to be way more exciting this year. A number 4 seed Rutgers beating a number 1 and 2 number 3 seeds to go into the championship. Way more exciting than the mens tournament where there was only ONE real upset. Lame. -------------------- Note to new members. Discussions such as the ones below are forbidden.
