The question asked was, "what is it with you and the doc?". That's the answer. I agree that it's his car and his money, and I've continued to support him and answer his questions while he's been getting the swap done elsewhere. So why is he stabbing me in the back every chance he gets?

thats not back stabbing. ive spent countless hours giving swap tips and advice to snapshot, brianforster and TONS of other swappers, over the phone, PM's, AIM's, etc... all for free. i never once thought those people were back stabbers because i didnt expect money from them.

lagos - i agree we are a community here, but doc went above and beyond the call of duty here. emails are one thing, 127 is a lot, but then again im sure ive messaged you thousands of times by now. but doc spent time calling the engine owner, shipping companies, etc. you help me to the best of your ability via aim/phone, and i definitely wouldnt be where i am today without your help, but ive never expected you to like, call toyota and order me a part or something.

edit: and doc says he continues to answer his questions even though he took his business elsewhere, and thats respectable. i dont see doc saying he was pissed that snapshot took his money elsewhere because frankly we all know doc is never short on business. he is just wondering why snapshot is so public in his disdain.

brian... just think about how much time i spent with you, trying to trouble shoot ever inch of the car, and never once asked for a dime.

what tweak did is what everyone in sales does on a daily basis. you get leads, you make some calls, and you reply to tons of questions. 90% of the time it leads to a sale and a profit. 10% of the time it dont.

Sorry, but am I missing something? -- you pay tweak to swap, and you get the car back with some issues, and he is nowhere to be seen posting after you got the car 4 days ago... I would be quite upset if I were you.

^First off all, I would like to say that my last post in this thread WAS NOT needed and NOT cool. My apologies Josh. Now...

I get frustrated with Josh because sometimes I see him misleading people here, especially about the V6 swap. This is where Josh and I got into things and maybe got a little carried away in what BOTH of us had to say to each another.

BUT, here is an example of something I posted that Josh got mad at - i thought it was very reasonable:

Okay, I feel as though I’m called to post in this thread before too many people start jumping on this idea because it is "cheaper than a 3sgte", and the general info being provided about this swap.

My car is currently undergoing a V6 swap. I'm not personally swapping it, but I KNOW nevertheless what it takes financially and physically to do a proper V6 swap into our 6th gens.

To start, here is a quick, small quote from the guy who is swapping my engine. He is 33, and has been working on Toyota engines for many years, his experience needs to mean a lot to anyone serious about this. He is personally working on this swap, and knows what is takes. Period.

forget about using 5sfe tranny .. mr2 guys breaking these trannys and it is half ass anyway.. just get a proper solara tranny with rear st205 mount .. all st205 if possible .. use poly mounts as well to keep the motor solid b/c torque will make engine move and hit rad .. use st205 shifter cables as well ..

Many of you need to consider the amount of money you end up investing into this swap -- don't you want it to be done correctly the first time? Did V6 Solara's come from the factory with 5s trannies? No. Yes, it costs more up front, but in the long run WILL save you money. You can ask many MR2 V6 swappers, and they will tell you the same.

I'm not going into specific prices of parts, running totals etc, but I can tell you Doc's quote is NOT accurate for a proper V6 setup. Doc, this is nothing against you, just posting a fair and balanced representation of this swap for everyone here. I don’t like to see people being mislead about what a proper V6 swap requires.

I'm sure the person working on my car, and HAVING FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with this swap will chime in on this subject.

His reply:

Don't be angry because your swap is taking twice as long and costing twice as much because you cut me out of the deal, after all the TIME and WORK that I spent guiding you through how we would do it and finding out all the info for you (I have like 1000 emails in my inbox from you), not to mention the many phone calls I had to make to the guy you bought your engine from so that you ACTUALLY GOT IT.

It came down to financially being better for me to go with someone else, business is business. I do question some of the things you say in your posting – such as taking hours to arrange shipping because you simply referred me to highway freight (which you said you had used in the past) – thus just linking me to Debra’s email.

Also -- I was warned by a few well known board members that your work can sometimes be the "quick and dirty way" -- for example: Bboys ST mount that was BENT to make a GT mount or something stupid like that.

Few things for the record:

1.) I'm not at all bitter about my car taking longer - because I know it is being done RIGHT.
2.) It has taken longer because I have chosen to add many items such as a COMPLETE suspension overhaul, as well as some exterior items.
3.) I'm personally paying for all of this now since I have gotten a job, have been saving and gotten loans.

This is flat out NOT true. The only contact i've had with Josh about my swap since it was started was him emailing me to see how things were going. PERIOD. Yet he says he has been "answering my questions while he's been getting swap done."

I'm not posting here anymore b/c this bickering is just lame and a waste of my time. Hopefully we can both move on, and provide this board with more good info - I think both of us have sometimes been very childish, and think we're better than that.

everyone picks on the s54, i dont know what the big deal is, art has pushed 240 wheel for like 3 years now with it and his tranny is fine.

s54 VS e153 is a another topic. I merely was showing that quote to show the reply, and where it all started. Also got some nasty PMs from him that I cannot show b/c I have deleted them a long time ago.

Btw, keep in mind my s54 had 215k on it -> with that many miles, it is not exactly something that should be mated to a 225hp engine imo. Again, the tranny debate could go on for a long time.

Josh, I feel as though you also owe me an apology as well for the some of the things said, and posts made towards me. I'm not getting all sentimental or anything, I just think it fair that you acknowledge your failings as well.

Again, we're moving on - GL with your shop and your swaps.
