So I just bought some new wheels. 17" gunmetals to replace my 17" silver Enkei's. Anyway I sold my Enkei's to my friend, but he couldn't get his on b/c his steering was all screwed and didn't want to risk getting the wheels messed up. So we left them on my car. When I got my car lowered the shop apparently torqued the HELL out of most of my lugs. So tight in fact that an impact gun couldn't budge them, and the guy told me I had two options. 1) Mig weld two spots on the inside of the lug to help grab the impact gun's hex. (the problem with this being, I don't want anything to happen to the wheels I just sold to my friend) 2) Drill out the bolts and replace all the studs. (the problem with this being, the mechanic estimated 100-300 bucks) So I'm pretty pissed. Not to mention that I bought my wheels 38 days ago, and received them 33 days ago, and have yet to put them on b/c UPS dropped one, %&@# the thing up, and still haven't replaced it. I'm sorry I just needed to explain all this to people that might have an idea of what I'm going through, and understand all my frustration. By the way, always use Fed-Ex and don't buy from Wheelmax.com, and stay away from AutoCraft if you're ever in Rolla, MO. Thanks for reading.

I worked for FedEx, and umm I might have to say we didnt exactly treat packages very well... I dropped many a packages that were filled with wheels. And some boxes are on the bottom and have 100's of pounds ontop of them. Every company is the same, but fedex has a better "we screwed up plan" I guess

Wheel max is cool with me . What did they do to you? As far as the lugs, did you try a braker bar. I accidently torked down a couple lugs and had to use a combination of liquid wrench, a impact wrench and a braker bar. One hour later I got them both off. Don't go damaging you shiznaz. Try this method first. It takes time but you'll save the rims.

A good, quality impact gun makes a huge difference on what it can handle. I'd try another shop with better tools before giving up.
Or use a long cheater pipe over either a breaker bar or lug wrench and just jump on top of the pipe's end.....even if you're a lightweight say like 100 lbs, standing at the end of a 4 ft long pipe will give you 400 ft-lbs of torque. |

Well it cost 133.32 to drive it out and replace the studs. He said he gave the impact wrench another shot and busted the heavy duty lug that I had bought. Anyway, the wheel came off. I shouldn't have said don't buy from them. It's just that their customer service deptartment is horrible. Everytime I tried to explain something they would cut me off and then come back on and tell me to call UPS. They never would listen to me. The first time I bought from them everything went through without a hitch, despite the wheels arriving a couple of days late. Anyway, just so you know, ask to speak to a supervisor first off, otherwise it will take a long time for your request to be heard!
Nathan P.S. I still haven't received my other wheel. |

It will probably be Monday before your wheels get shipped out b/c they are on a 2 or 3 day back up on shipments. Did you get 19's or something, b/c that's a heck of a lot of money! Nathan |
