I got a leak coming from the rack & pinion area. Ive got replacement PS fluid and added some STP leak in it. Planning to put about 1000 mi on her. Good idea? i cant afford to repair it. Anybody think id be ok to drive on freeway for 8 hrs? It loses about a cup of PS every few days of traffic driving.

not really going to hurt anything...i had a leak and ended up driving sans PS fluid for a few days on accident....steering gets heavy!

If you can't afford to fix it PM me and i might be able to help you out smile.gif

Yeah, just pay attention to the level in the reservoir.
It's best to get it fixed if it's leaking that bad, but you can always keep topping it off.

If it get's too low you do run the risk of damaging your pump.
What you can do if it get's too bad is to cut the pwr steering belt. This will save the pump and lessen the leaking. It will be harder to steer though.
I don't remember if on the 7A it's separate from all the other belts or not though.....
