Never heard of KYB AGXs actually being made just for our cars [MKVI Celica] The ones we usually encounter are Konis, Bilstein, and GR-2s.
Ill find some more info about them later on |

yeah, we've never seen these in the us, mate. they're all over the place for 7th gens here, but nary a 6th gen to be found. they are a well-reputed shock imo, while not as nice as koni yellows...a bargain to say the least.
i wish i knew how to get them here because WE NEED THEM. either these or a 6th gen version of the Illumina. This post has been edited by uberschall: Nov 6, 2006 - 11:44 PM -------------------- do you know who i am, mr. worley? |

I have KYB AGX shocks (for a SW20) on the front of my car right now...hopefully I'll get the rears on this weekend.
And I can't report on performance yet, as my car is barely drivable, and I'm waiting to get the rears on and get the car aligned before I really test them out. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Coom. did you shorten your strut casing? Ive about to get some MR2 Turbo AGX and I know modification will be needed for the strut casing |

Then you have to make sure you use the AGX top threaded things for the strut assembly...I'm in the process of writing up a how-to on how to do this. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

There's only one choice for our cars...and it's the GR-2. AGX shocks take quite a bit of work to get them to fit. I'm still working on mine.

what about koni yellows? i have been debating on those, going coilover (even more $$$) or cheapo gr-2's. i autocross, and would really prefer the adjustment, but the konis are expensive (compared to an illumina or agx, anyway).
i've been trying to find more options, and i got excited when pasqual linked the agx's that actually appear to be made for our cars. i was going to make my own, too. i just want to know if they're actually for the 6gc and if we can get them in the us, and why not if the answer is no. -------------------- do you know who i am, mr. worley? |

I've heard nothing but good things about Koni Yellows. But at $600 for four, I figured I'd spend half that and go with AGX shocks, which should provide me with good handling. I'm pretty sure the AGX shocks aren't as good as the Koni Yellows though. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I agree with coom. price wise.. I'd rather go with the AGX.. Yellows are awesome. but yikes.. I dont have 600 bucks lying around....
I also prefer the "click" adjustment more than the "feel adjustment" |
