My lifters are ####
I dont know if it is common for the 7AFE to make the noises my lifter makes after a certain mileage, or what, but i need to know how to fix it.

THe lifters sound terrible, its like a clicking noise, not a knock, but a click in every cylinder and im almost positive some previous owner ran the car with almost no oil to create this problem.

I hear that changing my oil to a thicker oil will help, but i dont know if i really wanna drop 20w-50 in her yet, i also have seafoam that i could run through it but i dont have time right now.

Has anyone encoutered this lifter problem? if so how have you fixed it?

or how would you go about fixing it?

You need a special tool to replace a lifter it's easier to get it done at a shop. wink.gif

put in 1 bottle of ATF with your next oil change, it should quiet it down.

The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?

Or just get used to it. Almost every Toyota makes that sound and will run fine for a looooong time like that. Embarassing sometimes though.
