well I put my car in the ditch sunday,
I was driving on some back roads I didnt know very well and the sun was just above the trees, I wasnt speeding but still going to fast seeing as i couldn't see. anyway I came to a T and couldnt stop. By the grace of God I wasnt hurt and my car wasnt hurt to bad either. the crazy thing is that I have it on video. later that night I came back to put it on the trailer this is about where I hit the brakes going 50-55 bent that sign over with my roof, Probly kept me from rollin I think the soft mud saved me a whole lot of damage This post has been edited by QuintinGT: Mar 30, 2007 - 2:12 AM -------------------- |

Good to hear you made it ok though, I know i've been in my share of ditches and they aren't fun! Hope the damage isn't too severe. Good luck.

Don't be surprised if the damage is a lot worse than you expect. I had a similar accident and ended up replaceing pretty much everything from 3 wheel wells and the mud was very soft to actual puddles in some places. 6K later and it drives great. better get it checked over pretty well.

Already had it checked over, and alingned, no supension damage at all just tweaked a bit but 70 bucks later it drives perfectly. and the rest of the damage is just sheet metal and I just happen to work at a body shop so I get everything for cost, its awsome. The fender is going to cost me 120 and thats all I have to replace, besides the washer fluid res. and the splash guard, which by the way im still looking for so if anyone has those parts they want to sell me let me know. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?act=ST...t=0#entry540189 Ive already fixed the roof and am working on the door. Its going to look funny while I save for paint but its going to be sweet when its done. Ive got some custom stuff planned
heres a sneak peak I figured hey, dented door, broken door handle, why not? Ya it does seem liike alot of celicas are being wrecked, you better puts yours away -------------------- |

Its alright I dont have a girl goodthing to cause if i did she prolly woulda been with me and gotten hurt. one of my friends rolled his car the same night i wrecked and his girlfriend's hand got pulled out of the car by the force of them flippping and it got smashed pretty bad I wouldnt want that to happen when i was driving! QUOTE(DSToyo @ Mar 30, 2007 - 4:53 PM) wow, glad youre allright, and that you have the connections to get it fixed, shaved door handles are going to look great. how did you manage to get it on video though, that is crazy ya God was looking out for me and my car. well interesting story, after making this video link I thought it looked cool so i wanted to make another one like it so I went to town the back way where theres lots of curvy roads and was filming the whole time. The whole video is about 9 mins and turned out pretty cool cept the wreck at the end heres the part you want to see. notice the blinding sun. QUOTE(hatchy_gt-s @ Mar 30, 2007 - 10:18 PM) see thats y you dont drift fwd cars jk its lookin beter ya no kidding, but if i had hit the ditch head on my airbags woulda blown and theres an automatic $2000 in damage, plus all the damage to engine, Im glad i drifted Im going to have my car fixed for less the $500 -------------------- |

holy sh** you are so lucky it didn't flip . i bet you nearly crapped yourself when it happened. i had one of those moments in my old celi. i was going on the freeway about 70 mph or so and there was almost a whole tire tread from a blow out that just sort of appeared there. i swerved to miss it but over corrected then over corrected again. needless to say i did a 360 on the freeway but was lucky enough not to hit anything. i think that the celi god was watching over the car that day. same with yours. hope it gets back on the road asap

OUCH. That video made me cringe when the car hits the ditch and theres the sickening thup of body panels convoluting under the pressure of dirt and sloppy mud...... I should be a writer. lol. Sorry to hear about that man. Let me know if you want any help working on fixing it. Maybe I could come up on a saturday or something. It'd be fun. Glad your all right.
