Hi all, i'm new here. just created my account about 18 seconds ago. Many of you will probably know me as 95gtschicks husband. I just bought myself a 94 celica gt-s hatchback. Not in the greatest of shape, but with a few bucks i'm sure i'll have it right where i want it. i'll post pics of the car in the near future.

Anyway, it has a full leather interior, and i noticed on the way home from picking up the car that the springs in the seat were kind of poking out a little in the backrest portion of the seat. Any suggestions as to how i could fix that? i have a couple ideas of what i'm going to do, but i'd like some opinions before hand. Thanks.

i should mention, it hasn't ripped the leather yet, there are just a couple of leather bumps in the back of the seat.

welcome to the site.

if it hasn't rip the leather should be an easy fix. take the leather cover off as soon as possible so it doesn't get damaged, then you have basicly 2 choices.

1- removed / replaced the springs
2- get yourself another seat from another celica ( make sure is the same style ) and put your leather cover on.

option 2 would be the best one if you can find a seat on a local yunk yard or from a member here that is close to you. ( shipping issues ) then if you can't get a seat locally then option 1 is the way to go. but once you take the cover off is an easy fix. unless the spring is borken and even if it is you can get an spring from member here, if you do it fast enough I can take one spring out of my seats and ship it to you ( all you pay is shipping ), because I'm gonna toss a full set of seats away. tan cloth thumbsdown.gif

okay, how much work is involved in removing the cover? also, both my driver and passenger seats have this problem. and there are bumps in 2 spots. Is that from the same spring? or are there more than one spring in the seat?
