lol dont hate me for this but i honestly laugh every time i see someone with an automatic car parked w/ their e-brake on...
i could be wrong but isnt there absolutely no way the car could get out of gear without you pushing the brake, the button on the shifter AND moving the shifter ? i mean on a hill i guess you're just being safe but i still think its kinda funny hey it could be just me though i laugh at everything. -------------------- **If you play My Brute, joing the 6gc.net clan!**

it puts less stress on the parking mechanism in the tranny especially on hills. i use the ebrake everytime i park.

i use ebrake no matter the transmission or where im at. Just was taught to always use it so i do. i guess i do it because once i parked and forgot i had left it in nuetral and just got out of my car 3 mins later the car rolled in the parking lot and caused alotta damage. so now i like to be extra safe and make sure its in Park or 1st (depending on the car) and ebrake on.

Ive alway use my e-brake... and im on an automatic...
Just a habbit I guess... but thats how I was taught to always leave it up just in case somethin did go wrong, even though I highly doubt its likely something will go wrong. -------------------- 2003 Nissan Murano SE |

when you park an automatic without the e-brake, the car rolls back and forth bouncing on the parking gear. If you do this enough it will crack the parking gear.
Also there have been cases where the automatic tranmission doesnt stay in gear/fails and the car rolls back killing the owner. so laugh all you want, the facts are out there. |

I always use the e-brake, and most of the time I also put it in 2nd gear (manual ).
I don't know where I got it from but it has become a habit, better to be safe than sorry... -------------------- |
