So it just rain here in Dallas, Tx. My car ran like any other day to work, right after work I try to start it, but all i hear is a click. First i thought the battery terminal could be loose but its not, everything turns on but it just won't crank. So I try push starting and it works. I got home to my mail box and turn the car off, check my mail and get back in the car and the same thing happen. The starter just clicks, i push start it again and got home. I'm thinking it might be the starter itself, but i can hear it click though. Maybe the starter relay?

check the battery cables/starter cables too! a poor connection can cause insufficient current flow to spin the starter but enough to kick the pinion out.

Sometimes you can get away with just refurbishing the solenoid instead of replacing the whole unit, but I find it much easier to just replace the whole thing. BTW, I recommend getting the replacement from the dealer (I know it's pricey...). I've gone through two aftermarket ones and they suck. Next time I'm definitely going to the dealer.
