I tried LED for the gauge, but oddly, it was VERY VERY VERY DIM... so I put in the original light bulb, and it was surprisingly bright... I have NO IDEA why.

So I took the LEDs and replaced the license plate ones. =)

You're kidding? 194's? Wow, those are bright! What brand did you get? I have the 5 way blue led's and the only way i could get them to be somewhat bright was to paint the plastic trim around the inside of the gauges silver so that some of the light reflects off of it. I love the needles.

i think it is more of a yellow because of the stock incandescent light bulb. yours would look yellowish too if you pulled them out and took the green rubber 'condoms' off of them. mine look yellowish too. soon i will be getting the leds.
i just wonder why they looked dim in your gauges. the color of the faces maybe?
who knows

Yea, the bulb is "yellow-ish". The color you see on the Odometer is the light bulb color. The gauge appears orange because of the color behind the gauge face.

Yes 194. I got the LED's from that one aluminationjigga whatever that website calls. Below is a pic of the original bulb (bright on SS-III gauge, dim on USDM gauge), and the white LED (dim on SS-III gauge, Super BRIGHT on USDM gauge).
