It seems to me like all the bolt patterns are different. If this is the case, how will any of the 3sgte manifolds fit the 5sfe?

Actually the 1st gen one is the same as the 5S but both versions of 2nd gen will fit [9 bolt requires some grinding]. If you look it appears that all of them will fit but some of the bolts can't be used and you will probably have to grind down the extra bolt hole areas at either end of the manifold. Not sure but that's what it looks like. I think only the 2nd gen one is a direct bolt up.

Be aware that the 1st gen manifold is a single entry type.
You won't be able to use twin-entry CT26 on it. However, a Supra CT26 or ST165 CT26 will bolt on. These turbos have different downpipe bolt pattern from twin entry CT26 and CT20B. You cannot use the downpipe that is made for twin-entry CT26 and CT20B. Also, IIRC, 1st gen manifold will place the turbo in a little different location. You might need to adjust the DP accordingly. Thanks for the info guys, I always thought that the st165 manifolds won't fit at all or something.

2nd gen 7-bolt bolts up. I think the 9-bolt will go on too, I don't think there is anything in the way that would require the grinding of the extra two bolt holes, so you'll just have two holes that do nothing.
from the looks, 1st gen manifold might bolt up to a 5s too.. -------------------- 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |
