So for the last little while when i start up my car while its been sitting, it starts up squeeling like mad. like really whining. It lasts about 5 minutes or untill the engine warms up a bit. Its kinda weird. It seriously sounds like a roots style supercharger. I talked 2 some of my teachers and they said that its probably an ideler pulley. Any one else had this problem? Ill see if i can take a vide of it later tonight to show the sound. This only happens when the car has been sitting for like more than 3 hours.

worn or loose belt(s)

it'll only get worse and start making the noise virtually all the time. check the tension in the belts and check for cracks/wear

its not my belts though..its coming from my timing belt. Like its a more metalic kind of sound. And also when i had my engine replaced, they replaced all the belts. The sound started when i got my new motor installed, so im thinkin it might have been a siezed bearing. But i am gonna b replacing my belts soon too just cuz they are starting to get a little worn and its only like $30 for them.

maybe the spring is just loose ? or the bearings in the pulley ? might as well just change out both the tensioner and pulley but in that case you might as well do the timing belt too.
