Wheeee! fun fun times! Mine were actually LEDs not neons. The hardest part of installing them were finding a place to mount the sides without them being seen. But i don't have it on my car anymore becuase my friend broke them driving my car over some blown tires on the highway.

haha aww man. My car is similar to yours. Blitz front, AH sides, and soon to be installed purple underglow. haha. How did you mount your neons? Like, where exactly did you mount each neon? Thats the hardest thing I'm finding with installing mine.

i believe leds last longer and dont get as hot, however neons are brighter i think...anyway i like them, and i dont think theyre very hard to install, the purple in my mind looks the best and nice car dew_hoe.

Well the advantage i found to my kit was that i couldn't decide on what color to get for my car. So the kit i had was a 7 different color kit, and i could choose between Red, Blue, Purple/Pink, Aqua, White, Green, Or Yellow with the press of a button. It also did little fancy patterns and could pulse to my bass. I've heard LEDs last longer, but i never got the chance to find out how long they actually last.

QUOTE nice car dew_hoe thanks a bunch...i knew i shouldnt have changed that look ![]() QUOTE How did you mount your neons? Like, where exactly did you mount each neon? i did a crappy job at it....it comes with 2 sizes on 2 pairs (2 same length/ea) mounted the long ones one the sides, short ones on teh front...on teh sides u do have to drill for holes to the bracket....for teh front i ziptied teh bar to the tow hooks...be careful if u wanna do this because its really close to the ground...some ppl mount theirs on the crash bar.....on the rear i need to drill holes on teh outside of the spare tire well.....my side neons are visible thats why i said it was a crappy job of mines......i think one member actually made a "cover" to cover teh visible neon..forgot who... ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

personally i don't think that i am going to get underglow on my car. yeah it looks good but i don't want to hassle with having to repair them all the time. everyone that i know says they had to fix and replace every couple months due to rocks and other things hitting them. but if i did get some they would be blue leds.
also since they are not street legal i don't see the point in getting them unless my car becomes a trailer queen. -------------------- |

yea i had a yellow LED kit on mine, it was kinda a pain to install, the sides at least. i rolled them up into my side skirts but it still was a kinda crappy install. but LEDS 'never go out' so they claim, i mean they can break sure but they should last a longggg time. if i had the sides mounted right i'd of used them alot more.

![]() ![]() I have a Streetglow Gold series neo-blue underbody neon kit. Personally i like the look of neon better than LED. LED is too concentrated of a glow where as neon will glow out everywhere. I mounted the side tubes to the inner frame rail, the front to the bottom of the crash bar, and the back over the two bumper supports. Overall, Its a pretty easy install. -------------------- Former Celica Owner... RIP 08-2007

The neon bulbs themselves are wrapped in a high impact lexan tubing. The only way that i have broken a tube was actually from the plastic mounts wearing out due to rock salt and stuff. I didnt see it in time until my tube was dragging across the street. If you go with a cheap ebay kit or something then i can imagine they would break alot easier, but i would rather just spend the money on a good name brand, like streetglow. Neon's will give you nothing but trouble, they burn out a lot, and one minor crack and they're shot, LED's will last forever, even if they get hit, they will still light up... so its up to you, Neon's will look a little better due to the color being more evenly spread out, if you have the time and money, Neons are the way to go, if you want something that still looks good and is user friendly, go with LED's, i've used about eight kits off of ebay on my and other people's cars and they work just fine.... (thats the LED kits)
