Wanted to post this as a future reference.
I just recently bought 2 Mr2. I got it shipped from CT. Today I finally had time to play with one of them. The 93 MR2 had a problem getting into gears when the car is running. It'll go into gears when its off. I check my shift cables and it was fine, check slave cylinder and it was fine. So I decided to take down the tranny to check the tranny. I'm already thinking its the pressure plate. So i open it up and found that its cracked.. Here is some pix. The mister 2 (notice my 3post spoiler now into a 2 post) Taking it apart to get rid of the rust Took down the tranny in 4-5hrs, it was the pressure plate that cracked. On my way to get a new clutch, thought this was hilarious I havent install the new clutch yet but damn, it was the pressure plate that cracked. I don't know what the previous owner have done. Hope this helps anyone. This post has been edited by My2Celi: Apr 21, 2007 - 11:32 PM -------------------- <--- I miss :'' (

that has got to be one of the weirdest and ugliest cars ive ever seen
-------------------- I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. |
