 dry flow filters WTF |

Ok so in my cold air kit I got one of these miracle dry flow deals. Besides having the looks of a screen door not terrible. But it lacks any and all cotton/fiber/paper like a normal filter. How scary are these? They claim 1 micron I doubt it.
