Well my run with the Celica is coming to an end. I now make enough money to buy a brand new shiney car.

Car Details:
- 1997 Toyota Celica GT
- White
- 150,000 Miles on the Car itself
- No Accidents
- The exterior of the car is not in mint condition. There are small blemishes on the car, the paint is not a lustrous as it was brand new, and I took of the side skirts a long time ago and the holes where they mount up are still there, the driver's side fender has the paint scratched off the edge. Don't get me wrong here, the car is in pretty good shape for it being 10 years old. I plan to take pics of all blemishes as the car will most likely be sold to someone who can not come look at it easily.
- Interior is in great shape
- Dash inserts are painted white but pieces are easily replaced or put back to black with paint thinner and some elbow grease.

3s-gte and modifications:
- JDM ST-185 3s-gte
- Wiring done by EL prototypes with all required sensors and things (no shortcuts)
- Brand New Toyota AFM
- HKS Air Cone Filter
- 3" Close to Mandrel bent exhaust from the downpipe back
- HKS Muffler with 3" inlet and obnoxious outlet wink.gif
- Engine runs good, I think the timing is a little off atm but it is an easy fix.
- I have put about 12k miles on it since I got the engine (I don't use it for commuting much)
- Eibach Sport springs (1.5" drop)
- KYB GR2 Struts (Replaced when springs were put in)

Now the fun bit. Currently I do not drive the car on California road ways because I have yet to find a way to get it smogged and registered (I recently got a temporary operating permit so I am sure the car is in good running condition). I think I have found someone that will smog it soon so I can get it registered (hence the July sale), but if I don't get it smogged or you plan to keep the car longer then 2 years I recommend a non California buyer unless you have someone that can get it passed.

So I will sell the car immediately if an out of state buyer wishes to purchase it or a California buyer who knows someone that will pass it (biggest problem being the car is OBDII and the engine is OBDI, not the EGR valve or any other nonsense). Please make offers, or ask questions. I will include "dated" pics of the car right now, with current pics to come soon.

Those are all the pics I have online ATM.

btw I am looking to sell this for pretty much KBB of a standard '97 GT. I will try to get updated pics tomorrow. I should have it smogged before the end of the month, at which point I will just put it on craigslist or autotrader.

No trades, I am buying a new car. KBB for the car is about $4800 for "Fair" condition and $5500 for "Good" condition so somewhere in that range is what I am aiming for.

The way to get it smogged is to bribe someone... Only way I could ever see someone just pulling into a smog shop with a swapped 6th gen is if they have an OBDI chassis (I think '94 to '96). The Engine does not look out of place in the car, the turbo says Toyota on it! They don't go super anal on your car with a 60 point inspection list, they look for CATs mainly and they do the in-pipe test. For OBDII cars they actually plug into the OBDII port though, seeing as my engine is OBDI the port is totally dead.

Super,
Whats the 221? Estimated HP?

BTW, even with the IC cooking under the hood I have kept up with (not beat or anything) EVOs and Subies (rolling starts though, no AWD frown.gif )

EVO 3385lbs with 286HP
Celica 2815lbs with 220ish HP

With some minor additions this is faster then a $30k car, well rolling start atleast kindasad.gif

That would leave me in the same boat, not being able to smog because of the OBD issue :-P. And who in their right mind would do such a thing? This swap cost more then what I am trying to sell the car for.

yeah, well you're only selling for kbb value of a stock one. so if you were to sell on something like craigslist you'd make about the same amount of money for selling the car stock (maybe more because then it would be smog-able) then you could sell the engine.

I'm kidding though, I'm way too far into my 5sfte set-up to consider the 3sgte now.

You said the motors rated at 235? JDM ST185 is 221. Unless your counting higher boost? Idk.
