a cheap one go to ebay and get a 7th gen short shifter and look for the how to.. here ( yes is for the 7th gen but it fits our cars too )

you wanna spend a little more then go get the TRD short shifter for our cars, is more money but you can't beat the quality.

I love my new TRD that I got from pittfirefighter. The quality is excellent. I used to have the older TRD [pre-99 was added at the dealership at the time of sale - I have the receipt for it] one that only reduced the throw by 10% and it was fairly useless - not much different than stock. Just for the fcuk of it I cut the throw down on it too for my next 6th gen I plan to get soon. I may get a 5th gen GTS tho. Anybody know if it will fit it?

Shorter is not always the best ....shorter shift means its harder to shift in between gears...Need to find a medium

The TRD quickshifter is really nice, except for the fact that its really close to the parking brake handle in 1st and 2nd gear.

I fully agree - after seeing my friend miss-shift his 1ZZ-FE into oblivion I fully agree. But the TRD is not rediculously short - if anything it is a very medium throw between the retarded ricer short throws and the stock tree trunk shifter.

Again - I fully agree. I think you could cut and weld in a rightward jog to the lever like the stock and older TRD shifters had or maybe change the spacers to be smaller on the pass. side slightly which would change the angle abit. The upside to that tho is no more rubbing on the guy in your pass seats leg LOL. Seriously I hate it when guys sit in the pass seat and don't seem to notice that you have to rub their leg with your hand to shift into 5th or reverse. Makes me wonder about the guy. rolleyes.gif I always ask them to move their leg.
