GT4 Rear Strut Bar, A little too long Options

Anyone have any trouble with fitting this? Mine seems a bit too long like the holes need filed out?

u just gotta fiddle with it..its a bit of a b*tch to put in..what i do is line side up over the threads for the strut mount, then shift it towards the front of the car, then slide in the oposite side, also do it while your out of the car, makes it a bit easier when the suspension doesnt have load on it. Just fiddel with it and move it around.

You do have it the right way up don't you? Mate of mine was having trouble and he had it upside down

it may also help if you have it on jacks as well won't it?

you should always jack up your car when installing strut braces, this lets the frame flex out so that you have more room to install (curing the my bar is too short problem) and puts force on the bar when it is back on all 4 wheels letting the bar do its job even better

x2 for checking you have it the right way up, the thing looks upside down when fitted correctly, try it the other way. There should be no need to jack it up to fit it.

I got it to fit finally, it took a while though. I jacked the car up and it didn't help. So I just filed one of the holes a little bit and it slide right on.

if your car was ever in an accident, the whole thing might be a little tweaked...enough that something like this could pop up. happened on one of my other cars, it's not uncommon.

or if you or the previous owners drove hard during turns all the time that the distance between the struts got a tad shorter..
anyway, hopefully when you put it on that's it fits snug and not loose... the bar should be a tight fit.
