my hatch is startin to rust in the under side and its starting to bubble out. I can get rid of the rust its self, but the bubbeling im not sure about. Any ideas??

Once rust starts theres no stopping it. You can grind off as much as you can and do some welding but thats if you are ready to get a paint job.

pretty much says it all, eh?

i did both doors last summer. they looked alot like your hatch. grinder, wire brush, grinder, more wire brush, about 3 differtent "rust-stop" products and still...they look like hell now mad.gif

trdproven has it right: once it starts...

true true...my doors arent bad, but the hatch is gettin there..im just gonna do a temp fix cuz im gonna b either gettin rid of it within the next 2 years, or im gonna get a CF hatch when i get the $ for one.

I had this, I removed that sealant strip and grinded the most I could, then painted / bondo where I could, I periodicaly shoot red rust stop in there...went through winter and its still holding (though theres always little rust spot that need cares once a month or so with touch paint/sanding paper...Doing something as early as possible is the best you can do without replacing your hatch.

btw, that's very very minimal rust you have there

get a new hatch, since you know 240sx's...I had an s13 before my s14, with that stupid foam spoilers...worst idea ever nissan...anway, I just replaced that hatch with one that didn't have a spoiler...alot less of a headache.....trust me

yea..that foam spoiler on the S13s were stupid. But my thing is i want to have a spoiler on my car. Im gonna go c the scrap yard around the corner from me and see if they still have 1. I was there in August and they had a yellow hatch for cheap. I cant remember the condition of it, but ill double check tomorrow. Only thing im not gonna b looking forward to is painting the hatch again.

EDIT: Ill also go c my friend who works at a body shop on sunday and see how much hes gonna charge to fix it up.
