rule of thumb is to wax your car once a month to keep it from oxidizing

mine is the same way on the hood and roof. bought it that way. and it's getting worse over time. I would wax the car but somebody said that would make it worse.

try tire shine, or interior shine, and then buff it with a cloth, it worked on my old ST and it would last through the week...

they make chemicals that eat away the top layer of paint. I dont recomend this for other parts of the car. I'm assuming the old paint is not salavagable.

after you use it. you need to wash it off and use sealer and wax to buff it back to a shine.

It wont look like clear coat. But I wont be as ugly.

would this work for severe oxidation? I'm thinking it would only work for the beginning stages of oxidation where only your clear coat is gone.

it depends on the chemical, and if there is still your orginal paint under the oxidation. I mean it wont work if your paint has oxidize all the way to the primer.

And if its bad enough you can do a second or third coat of it, maybe let it sit for a couple minutes. But remember this stuff is very harmful to paint. Dont use it too often or it will eventually eat all your paint up.

maybe I'll give it a try. I'll be repainting the car anyway so I have nothing to lose. it can't look any worse then it already does. I'm through all the coats of clear and like 1-2 of the base color coats. I can still see green but it's a lot darker than the rest of the car.

Is there a close up of the paint?????

Could be condensation getting between the paint and the clear coat.

or the paint might need conditioning.

Start by giving it a good going over with T-Cut...if that does no good then........
If your feeling brave then try rubbing it down with the finest wet and dry you can get (1200grit with lots of water IIRC) then T-Cutting it followed by the usual polishing methods. Go easy though as you dont want to rub right through the paint to the primer layer.
