Hey, I have a convertable 6th gen and the driver's side back window stopped going up. Not the one in the door, the one behind the door coming off the quarter panel. I was hoping to buy the new motor and track used, but I was looking at a hatchback celi today and it looked like the back windows don't move. In peeking down at the dash, I saw the controls for the rear window were not there. Do any other 6th gen's besides the convertables have power windows in back?

I don't think so, just us convertible people wink.gif..anyhow, that happens with my car also. the thing is, i think, that when the top is up the components must get in the way of the window and it wont go up.. all you have to do tho is simply have your top down when you roll them up and they'll go up fine ( found that out the hard way after two nights of having to put a plastic bag in place of the window overnight just in case it rained rolleyes.gif ) I'd try doing that before buying a different car.

I have a convertible too, an im havin a somewhat same problem. I guess my window isgetting of track, i hear it click, when its going up, and does not flush correctly with the door window, leaving a gap between. I wanted to see about taking it appart. mad.gif

My best guess mine could be damaged or simply dirty. After 10 years of dust, grease, grinded metal. I think its worhtwhile taking it out, clean it with gasoline, get old grease out, and regrease it. I know its a lot of work but it should definitely prolong the life of the little motor. I think these motors have a protection. If the sensors think the motor stop, or has something stopping it it wont keep feeding electricity to the motor. kindasad.gif

The only setback of taking the window out, is you have to know how to properly adjust it after putting it back in. I am planning on taking pictures on ho the pins on the pannel are, and measure the gap between window, metal before simply going in and taking it out. Plann it carefully. I dont have time this weekend, but maybe next. rolleyes.gif

I am planning on doing this on all four windows, its cheaper thant replacing all of them. Plus i will be bonding with my car!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I have the exact same problem except that the rear passenger window will not go down or up unless you rock the switch back and forth... I dont even like to put it down because Im afraid one of these times it wont go back. I took the switch apart and sprayed some cleaner in it, but it didnt seem to help.

Yes I handpainted it all myself. Thanks for the appreciation!

BTW thanks to everybody that helped me out with info, I am getting motors and tracks from a 6gc member and hopefully I can do all the work myself.
