Of course, many of us have seen those videos and pictures where if the owner of that car had a fire extinguisher on hand, he/she could have saved his/hers car. Thus, it is a good precaution to carry a "small" fire extinguisher to help with any unwanted smoky situations.

3 Questions:

1.) What types of fire extinguisher do you guys carry around? type A,B,C,D etc..
2.) What make did you buy? And why that maker...
3.) What size did you get?

...probably "overplaying" choosing one, but seems like a delicate situation.

Thanks-

ABC drychem is the kind to get, it'll work on electrical, paper/wood/fabric, and fuel/oil/grease. those little ones on A pillars couldnt put out a candle, let alone a car fire laugh.gif

agree with him but the one's on the a-pillars are just fine... a larger fire extinguisher won't put out much more... if the one on the a-pillar won't handle it... then the fire department is needed.... check the name....

Bought a 5BC Kiddie extinguisher from Lowe's. I think BC is all that is needed since that takes care of liquids and electrical fires...correct me if i'm wrong pittfirefighter.

seats and carpeting are pretty flame retardant... i've only seen one carpet on fire in hundreds of motor vehicle fires and that was due to faulty wiring on a self-installed amp... most fires are electrical and underhood, certainly doesn't hurt to have though...

LOL. My friend did this also in his MR2. Said he was 2 seconds from peeing on it but was able to get it with his hands. He still does not own a fire extinguisher tho. rolleyes.gif
