What swap would you do? I need some recommendations. I do like the idea of AWD but even RWD would be good enough. I am seeking serious power! What would you do? I asked myself What Would Jesus Do, although I don't think he is into cars.

13bt is the rotory engine from mazda.

Most swapers dont worry about smog anyways. The 3sgte swap will never pass smog in california legally, yet its always done.

Your question should be change to: if you have enough money what swap will you do?..

for me. black top beams/turbo diesel engine/ v8

Rotaryys are maintenance heavy to the extreme. If I had my way and enough cash to do it right I would drop a redtop BEAMS in my GT and turbo that with forged everything. Now that would scream.

I'd say a 9age 20v blacktop in rwd. Get right to 2 L and use open velocity stacks. Should be good for a nice even 250 hp at the crank, but overall lighter then a 3sge. Oh, and I'd mate it to a 6 speed from a miata (I know of some ae86's that use the tranny).

I just want a blacktop 20V with the 6sp trans. Velosity stacks, header, P&P, new valvetrain, cams, cam gears, etc.

the correct answer is - yes it can be put in, but with all the custom work you might as well buy a supra.

bleh. just go 3s and dumped loads of money it.
then go AWD and most emission places dont have awd rollers to do load o2 tests on. so you can pass emission easier with a 2 stage idle test.

Any A-series motor will fit the easiest into your ST, as you will use your current motor mounts and such. 4AGE or GZE will fit easily. You can use a 3SGTE from an ST-185 (5th gen Celica alltrac) or 91+ MR2t.

a 2ZZ-GE from the elise is the same as the 7th Gen GT-S - which is still an uncharted swap for us. In theory it could work. I know the 6sp transmisssion from the 7th Gen can fit up to the A-series engines (7A, 4A, etc.) with a bit of work.

if money and laws weren't a problem... i'd do an st205 3s swap with awd conversion (or just import the real thing).
