I took the Celica to the shop this afternoon to have the exhaust leak looked at. A bit later I got a call from the shop saying they found the leak.... or should I say 3 leaks!

I have a hole the size of a pencil near the axleback.

I have a hole in the midpipe

And the strangest one - I am leaking right over the #4 exhaust port off the head. He said he is going to check to see if my exhaust manifold is warped, which I'm hoping not. If not it just needs a new gasket.

The verdict.... $130 if the manifold is fine... $175 if it needs to be resurfaced frown.gif

Anyone else have something like that happen? I'm all depressed.. kindasad.gif

Ive got an exhaust leak somewhere up front (not sure where)

Every RARE once in awhile It will even backfire when im shifting from gears 1-2. I think its only happened 3 times in the 2 years its been like that, and it passes inspection so im leaving it for now

My stock manifold @ 36K miles showed signs of leaking in all four cylinders - some more than others. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Doubt you'd even hear those.

Hmmm - not mine. Maybe mine werre just sorta slow leaks. Then again it's hard to hear anything over the intake and exhaust. My intake sucks rediculously loud.

I suppose I should have taken a picture of my manifold gasket. It was trashed.
