I guess no one has? I've been thinking about doing this also since now with the new cooling plate the prop is in the way and scratching me newly painted plate, i either want to move it to the side and drill some holes on the inside of the fender or modify a pair of hatch struts to fit the hood.

anyone?

did it, tried it. doesnt work. the hatch props are way to strong, if want to do this you need to find some from another car that has them on the hood or has a lighter hatch. you will tweak the hood if you use the rear hatch props.

these are mine from a 97 buick park avenue. they work really well cause the buick has an aluminum hood. just go to a junk yard and look around most GM sedans have hood dampers

^^^Nice! And a clean engine too! We don't have junkyards around here so i'll need to order these. don't they get in the way while you are working on the engine? I was actually looking at smaller ones. My friend has a Audi TT Quatro and his are pretty small and they are further back so they seem to be strong also.

It would be a good idea to get this setup from a 92-96 Camry. They use hood dampers.

Yep, along with pretty big brackets for reinforcement.
