ok i know this is a 6th gean site but i have 90' gts with the piss poor 5fste and i want to put the 3sgte but mines and automatic can i still put the motor in ?

you will find alot of help and answers here, but given you have a 5th gen, celicatech.com will probaly have a few more answers specific to your car.

aww thank you ^.^ i just got the car to my house its in pretty bad shape >.> but it should be fun i asked the same question on a couple other celica sites and i have been told that i would have to get an aftermarket ecu to redirect power and so forth so we'll see ill pop in sum time and let the celica lovers know

you need to hit the FI forum on www.celicatech.com
they have all the info you need to do the swap in a 5th gen celica there.
its actually very straight forward if you have a GT, and wiring is very minimal.

I think that he's a little confused with the engine codes.

Stock gt-gts 5SFE
Stock alltrac- 3SGTE

you can do the swap. All you need is a full longblock with ECU and harness. The point of concern here is the strength of the 5S tranny. You will need to look into getting an MR2 TURBO tranny and modifying the driveshafts from the MR2 to fit the GTS. If you don't want to do the trans work, the stock 5S tranny should hold up IF you don't get too boost happy. (so yea you'll be looking for a new tranny soon after the swap. wink.gif )

ok so im doing searchs asking multiple forums of celica lovers. but the only real answer i have gotten is will the alltrac motor (3s-gte) work with the auto matic transmsion or do i need to get the AEM EMS to do that ? blood moeny how much does work like that cost and my other thing is in kansas theres not many places that know a thing about jap cars... im all for ears on what i need to do to build a a nice car. and whats the word on auto tranny to manual conversion

Correction... In Kansas there's no places that know anything about jap cars.

Luckily you live in the city with the only running FWD auto shifted 3SGTE. I just happen to own it.
