It should be somewhere when you make your profile. Looking through the members rides, it seems many people don't know that even though their car has two doors it doesn't have a trunk, and it should be classified as a hatchback. Just a thought...

At some point I'm going to change all instances of hatchback to liftback...I think that'll help.

i think what he means is when people set up there account and put what car they have they are putting coupe instead of hatchback or liftback or whatever the option is.

The problem isn't with the term hatchback, it is with the term coupé. See this thread. The change that would help is to change all instances of coupé to fastback/notchback.

Exactly! Fastback/Notchback would fix it. Do a search for GT-Four Coupes... you'll see what I mean biggrin.gif

Did you even read the linked thread? Not everyone that is into cars knows the difference as the particular definition this site is (and you are) using is US-centric. In most of the rest of the world, coupé means something different (cars with a 2+2 seat configuration). Using this international definition, both the notchback/fastback and the liftback/hatchback versions could be (and are) described as a coupé, hence the confusion.

I understand what he's saying...

In some countries, "Coupe" is refering to USA English of "hatchback".. thus leads to confusions between the cars..

I think that is fine as is....I mean when I got my celica and signed my paper work i signed for a "1994 Toyota Celica Sports Coupe"....So I really don't see what the confusion is.

Like I said, I'm planning on changing all instances of hatchback to liftback. Do you guys think that will help?
