That one is a direct bolt up to the stock setup so would be pretty good for someone. It's a 4-1 so could be a little better but I like mine and its similar. Check the placement of the o2 sensors with no cat inbetween. Probably will cause a cel in OBD-II cars [IDK about OBD-I cars]. Also def will cause you to fail smog. 304 SS is ok in the manufacturing world [could be much better] - I have no idea if that's good as far as exhausts go.
Should feel a noticeable difference in top end.
Just thought people should be informed of the facts before they buy.

Any idea if this header would require the cat to be removed or will it bolt up the existing one, just replacing the stock manifold? I'd pretty well only buy this if that were the case. My exhaust is in great shape and I'm not up for redoing it for the sake of adding this header.

It would replace your 1st cat and exhaust manifold (obviously).

This is where I got my 4-1 header. The truth is I never got to install mine because I had issues with the alternator, the header bolts on straight but it makes contact to the alternator so I am selling mine. He said it can be fixed by using header wrap. The ebay seller said he had no problems with the other buyers. If anyone here in 6gc is interested PM me.

Here is the pic. Brand new never used:

mmm... not sure I'd want it resting against the alternator. Couldn't that cause problems? I mean, installing it, all you do is loosen the adjusting bolt and tilt the alternator back to get the header on right?

I might be installing it wrong. I did get the header in position by loosening a bolt on the alternator, set aside the belt to lift it up, put the header in place, then when I am about to put everything back, it seems that there is just no space left to squeeze everything up. Could it be possible that my alternator set up is just too close to the header? Are all engine components spaced the same for Toyota cars? I might be missing something...

The only thing is with a OBDII celi's that header would jump the code. Because it only has one o2 sensor on the header. I wanna find one that has both sensors on the header so i don't jump a code.
