So in a few weeks time im gonna b driving all the way out to Jersey from Windsor...aka almost 1000KM round trip + what ever other driving we do around jersey. Any ways, im gonna b on the highway for almost 19 hours throughout the trip. I was thinking maybe i would try this Duplicolor Sheild stuff. Its a spray on Sheild that leave a bit of a haze when applied but washes off easily when you want it off, either power washed, or with soap and water. Apparently rain, snow, etc wont take it off too. I was just curious if any one has used it b4. Duplicolor says it doesnt leave any marks or any thing on the car, but im not 100% sure about that. Also im thinkin of doing the blue tape run. Aka get low tack masking tape and tapping up the front end. Only downside to that is if i hit rain. But im also looking for any other ideas of how to keep my front end from gettin all chipped up/plastered with bugs. Any ideas??

I recommend 3M paint protection film. I laid out mines on the front most parts of the bumper (flat part) and you won't be able to notice it from a distance. Use a blower dryer since it gives less heat then a heatgun but makes the film a bit more stretchable to follow the bumpers contours.

Clear Bra FTW, 3M rules

but whatever you do, please please please do not ruin your car with one of those black strap-on, velcro retarded type bra things

but don't the bras cause damage to your paint? i thought that the movement from the wind would cause them to wear down the paint. personally i am not sure what you would want to do.
but it does sound like the spray on stough works pretty good

I am thinking about taking 3M tape to my front lip once it is installed. Seems like a good option.

yes this is why i said no regular bras, 3m clear bra is adhered onto your car, and is a clear film that doesn't come off this protects your paint 24/7 and you can't even tell its there without looking for it

I use it on my truck and for "mudflaps" on the celica, it works good. The rain doesn't wash it off, you have to take it to the car wash or scrub it off.

If ur worried about just the trip to the meet, do what i mentioned in that thread

BLUE painters tape works VERY VERY well and for 3$ a roll, that would tape ur entire car, its a great deal smile.gif

Yea, im also gonna go out and buy a can of the spray on stuff and try it on my buddies car..hes got a 91 sunbird thats a big POS that he doesnt care about, but the paint on the front end is in good condition, so we made a deal and hes gonna try it out for me for a week. He lives like 40 min away from the school out in the country so he has to drive all country roads and highway at 80+km/h so im gonna see how it lasts on his car and how easily it comes off.

If it doesnt work out good, im probably gonna painters tape it, just im worried about it rainging along the way.
