maybe a clay bar? Most of the crap ontop of the paint and clearcoat can be removed by cleaner wax and buffing.

eric, use rubbing compound. Put it on just lightly with a terry cloth, rub it in, let it haze for about 10 or 20 seconds, then use the clean side to whipe it off. I had some dick who decided to cut a corner really short at a drive-in about a month after i got my car, left nice scratch marks along the side of my 1/4 pannel, i used rubbing compound and bam..came out. Try it. i wouldnt try that mr. clean magic eraser thing on my paint. it might leave streaks or swirls, where as the rubbing compound will take thouse swirls out
