I'm looking into buying a stock 98 GT Conv. The rear suspension feels a little soft. Any idea on how much it would be to at least get it back to factory? I'm not interested in any lowering kits, so it's a little hard to find info on OEM shocks/struts.
Thanks! |

Not even a slight drop like the Eibach Pro-Kit [1" front and rear] and others? I'm sure you could get stock replacement springs anywhere from the dealer to parts shops but I would think they will cost as much or more than drop springs.
Why would you not want a drop? TRD or Sportline springs [same thing just the drop is slightly diff] are OEM ride quality and the drop greatly improves the looks of the car. If it feels really loose in the back the springs/struts are probably worn out so be aware that like Malpaso found out it will raise up when you put new springs on. It looks like an off-road vehicle stock Maybe take pics of the way it looks now and we can tell you if it is sagging and whether or not it will raise with new OEM springs. Here's a pic from the side. Doesn't look like it's sagging too much to me, but I'm no expert.

I agree that it looks fine. I thought it felt a little soft, but could be just the lake of driving that I've done it it. |

If you really don't want to drop the car the monroe sensatrac [i think that's how you spell them] are a good stock replacement. IDK about OEM springs except get them from the dealer. They're gonna run ya tho.

Work great on an MR2 i installed them on for the last two years. He picked them out but they feel great. Remember this guy doesn't seem to want performance stuff.

I just got a set of 4 Bilsteins off Ebay 2 weeks ago for $318 to my door. I put the rears on tonight. (Didn't have time to do the fronts). With TRD springs it droped the rear 3/4 of an inch. Height at the fender lip before was not quite 26 inches. After the install was about 25 1/4.
I've had Bilsteins on my Supra for 7 years and I love them. They are great everyday driving shocks. -------------------- 1995 Celica GT 5 Speed Convertible
