Ok well today when I get home from work I should have my real TRD spoiler sitting on my door step. Now my question is since it is real they used a plastic like material not fiberglass( if I remember correctly) So now any idea how I would go about sanding that....what grit? what to start at and finsh with ?...Please all info would be helpful as I am gonna try to paint it today or tommorw.

I recived my TRD spoiler yesterday and took it all apart. Anyone know if there is anyway of telling if the center is CF. I know this is random but the center smells different from the other pieces more of a chemical smell..any ideas?

QUOTE won't that damage the CF finsh as well ? Rub paint thinner or sandpaper until you get underneath the paint. You're probably smelling fiberglass, but no it will not affect the finish of the CF if there is any.. just sand with 1500 grit afterwards. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Sand it down using a 400 Grit sandpaper, soaked in Mineral Spirits. Paint from there, increasing the grit everytime.

I am in the process of painting my wing my self....first time doing it....I started by sanding it down with 400 grit. washed it. Then sparyed it black ...2 layers...then hit it with 1000 grit washed it and 1 more layer of black. I waited for it to dry then 2 layers of clear....now like i said its my first time..and I am not using a air gun just cans. The paint came out real even and nice except there is a shiny to it but not really a luster..any ideas?
