You will probably get fired, plain and simple. If you had a pension going, you probably won't get it due to being terminated instead of leaving on good terms. It will probably also stain your employment record and it certainly won't help when looking for future employment. It's one of those live and learn situations that you want to avoid.

well did u confess in writing? and i mean if they signed a paper not 2 press charges than thats a binding contract. and even if they do try 2 double cross you, u can say u confessed under duress which in turn makes your confession null and void. i went thought the same damn thing my friend, i confessed to something i didnt do at a job just 2 keep my job and then they tried 2 press charges anyway, but i didnt get them 2 sign anything. It would have helpped if in ur confession that its stated that u r doing it to avoid charges, but if not no biggie, and if they try 2 flip things on you just deny the hell out of it. U will loose ur job but nothing else, just make sure u keep that paper u had them sign and u will be ok, bcuz that shows the "duress" not only does it say they wont press charges, it show that they told u that if u dont confess u will be charged.

As long as you have in writting that no outside actions will be made against you, youll be fine. Youll of course be fired, you might not be able to draw unemployment if you apply for it, and youll have to explain to future employers why you lost your job at costco during interviews/applications.

Yeah it was wrong, but if you were going to do that, you should have at least thought of the scenarios before doing it. You could have made an excuse. That's a petty theft, I wouldn't worry about it. Next time be a smarter thief, or don't steal. In the overall scheme of life,,,it's not a big deal,,,and life will go on.

QUOTE(hioctane @ May 17, 2007 - 8:07 PM)

im not worried about a job. just worried about being locked up !!

u wont be locked up, if anything u would be charged with petty theft, but what u did is called embezzlement, but u can not be chagred with that unless what u gave away was worth more than $400, if this is the first time u ever got in trouble u would not get a felony anyway. at the worst u would get a misdemeanor, so u would have 2 pay restitution and get summary probation, which is nothing. but it sounds like u have nothing 2 worry about.

yea you Fooked up ... but take it as a lesson. and as for getting locked up. if you where going to get locked up they would have did it right there. I worked security way to many years to know that. Lost prevention from the store might not do anything for you. But the cell phone company might came after you. and as for future jobs you don't have to give them the reason why they let you go.. if they ask say you left cause you didn't want to work there anymore..
