Looking at the T3/T4, CT26, and the TD-06. Which one would be the best for a 5sfe? I do plan on having Forged internals.

QUOTE(GTSOwner @ May 28, 2007 - 10:15 AM) Would the CT-20b be an option? Iunno, havent heard of that one lol. I'm not too knowledgeable about the different t3/t4 makes. I just know that they are an option. Between the t3/t4 and the TD-06, which is more reliable and has more WHP? -------------------- You say you don't understand how we go dumb, but have you ever been where i'm from?

CT-20B is on the 3rd gen 3S-GTE and good for up to 300-320bhp. But if you buy it new your better of with a GT28RS from Garret.
You also didn't state what power goals you want to achieve so its a bit unclear what your best choice would be. -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!

anyone know what type of exhaust manifold is needed in order to use a t3/t4 turbo? I heard that the 3sgte manifold won't work.

you are waaay over your head at this point....i wouldn't even bother asking what turbo ect...read the stickies...go over the MR2oc.com and read the info they have there on the 5sfte...
there are at least 5 different t3/t4 turbos each behave differently... plus supporting modifications, ie fuel, tuning, pistons, head work....there is much to this. but easiest answer for 300whp on a 5sfe 3sgte exhaust manifold adaptor (ATS/Koracing?) to fit a t3/t4 turbo T3/t4 50 trim + 6 grand worth of other parts if not lil more? IMO, you should start with a base 5sfte (like Shin or Pressure2) using the 3sgte OEM pieces.....and learn what that level is like then move on up...u no ready for your posted goals This post has been edited by playr158: May 31, 2007 - 1:00 PM |

agreed with that perspective. i'm just gonna keep asking questions about random things which may seem redundant to most.

Oh, I know it's possible. I'm wondering if anybody has done it before? yeah, later on down the road when I have a job where I actually make more than $8/hour I want to do a 5s with all forged internals, cams, CT20B or GT28RS turbo, and some good tuning with an emanage ultimate (or standalone). and hope for 300 whp. Oh, and also swap the tranny with an LSD e-153, and big sticky tires This post has been edited by 6strngs: Jun 1, 2007 - 12:13 AM -------------------- 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |

I had a older 5sfte and I would check the condition of the engine and build it first. I spun the rod bearing in my car in less than 100 miles. All the power to you but I just wanna share my .02 listen to presure2 he really knows his stuff!
