that is so annoying. especially when you're in a rush closing windows and sunroof at the same time, turning off a/c and turn off the car... then realize the sunroof is half open. its annoying.

there is something you can do biggrin.gif

My sunroof does not stop halfway... not anymore laugh.gif

IPB Image

There you go
Stick a diode from pin 8 (green/white) to pin 2 (green/yellow) of the sunroof control unit.
Do this by striping some insulation off of the wires and soldering in the diode. Shrink tube or tape up
Do NOT get it backwards.

Of course this involves getting to the unit... which is located behind the headliner on the right side of the driver visor.

interesting K-ESD...
though the sunroof stopping halfway is no problem for me.. i'd rather just leave it than risk breaking something... wink.gif

anyway.... has anyone found out why toyota decided to make it stop halfway?

This ISN'T a failure of any kind. It's by design. It's a safety feature Toyota built in to all their cars as of the early 1990's so you don't crush anyone or their limbs and makes you press the button a second time to close the sunroof. It's kind of like a Microsoft Windows "are you sure you want to close this window" feature.... only your car doesn't crash from an invalid page fault.
