Ok so I was driving home over the weekend and at a stop light I noticed can won't go into any gear. It will however, go into all gears if car is completely turned off. But once turned back on car would start to move even though clutch pedal is fully depressed. Also cannot disengage from gear unless car is turned off.
So I manage to get home took a look at the engine bay, noticed some small fluid leaking from the slave cylinder. Thought I found the problem. But after a new slave cylinder replacement and numerous clutch bleeding I still have same problem. Clutch master cylinder seem ok. Long story short: after researching, I concluded something wrong inside the clutch housing. decided to take transmission down to have a look inside b/c I was hearing extra clicking sound when I step on the clutch pedal.
Well, after 8hours, transmission was loose but I couldn't move it from the engine block except maybe 1inch.
My question is what are the tools and tricks to moving the transmission from the engine block and also putting it back? I read somewhere that used tires under the transmission works but that did not help me.
How do you fellows that did your own clutches do it? Do I need a transmission jack? and what else?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
