I found a hatchback that I really like. Its two years older, but has less mileage than my car. Its very clean. Very minor problems. I live in Michigan so the top goes down very seldomly. Its fairly priced. There would be less insurance... What should I do? I hate to sell my convertible, but I think the hatchs look better. Please help me out. haha Oh yea, I forgot its a GT 5 speed.

i would never sell my Vert to buy a hatch , i personally think the convertible looks better ( exc. rear lights) , having a Vert is something else , i think you should keep it ..its always nice to drop the top and have an open air drive from time to time

I will definitely miss that, but keep in mind I can only do that for less than half the year. I would like some hatch owner opinions too. haha

Half aa year is better than none a year. A vert is more rare that a hatch. only a few were made, meaning even more rarer than the hatch. Hatches are nice, but this is me. If I would buy a second celica, it will be a blue convert. My daughter likes blue....

Maybe you should try switching the question. Would a Hatch owner trade for a vert? Why, Why not?

Youll get different opinions, in the end all that matters is your own. Why not have two? biggrin.gif

Half a year is better than none, but it seems like the other half I'm freezing in my car. haha

If only it were possible to afford 2. haha

It seems like everyone is selling verts for some reason though. When you search ebay most that are sold are verts.

I used to have a vert and I would like to have both, but unfortunately i sold my vert for a hatch. I like how it feels when your riding a vert openly.

I'm with you on hardly ever getting to put the top down. WA is not the best for convertibles, but when, on occassion, you actually do get to put the top down, it's soo soo nice! If you decided to sell the convertible and get a hatch, you might regret doing so sometime down the line. my .02

but it would be good to also get an opinion from some hatch owners on here as well...anyone..?lol

Oh, another thing I forgot was, if I do decide to sell, I think I'll have about $2000 to put into the hatch.

and i dont think ill be owning those cars in this lifetime!
dodge viper and Ferrari 360

plus texas weather is so bad
there are like 2 days a year a vert would be good

I love my hatch. Tho i have never drivin in a vert celi before, But i just love the way the hatch's look. But its ur opinion and decision. If you really like hatches get one. I mean if you don't like it i'm sure you could find another vert for sale lol.

i had a choice between a red vert with 65k miles or my current hatch with 52k miles when i first bought my celica. I choise the hatch because i dont like the insecuritys of the cloth top. And the extra hassel of the roof motors burning out.

I think I would sell mine for a vert.. would just be nice to have the option to cruise with the top down. smile.gif But don't get me wrong.. I love my hatch.. i'd never just get a coupe.

Hey the hatch you are looking at, its not the one with 227,000 miles on it is it?? I would get a Hatch anyday vs. a vert for the reason of looks. Hatch looks way better imo. I don't really care about the car being rare.

Nope, its got 93000 miles on it. The only thing that the guy says doesnt work is the antenna and the e brake.

Well the 2000 you'll have over for the hatch you can use to fix the e brake and antenna. I don't like the stock antenna anyway you might as well get the s2000 antenna and use the rest to upgrade the suspension. Or even turbo it. biggrin.gif wink.gif

Yea actually, (I'm still in the research stage), I was gonna turbo my vert... but now... it might be a hatch. haha Does the fact that I wanna turbo it change anything?

That antenna will be there for about 5 seconds. haha

vert's look nasty unless the top is down. And even then, it still doesn't have near the lines or flow of a hatch.

also, you won't have any wind-noise, and you'll have less parts to worry about replacing
