if its just a regular din hook up *2 screws per side*, you should be able 2 use the oem mount.

if the left and right brackets weren't stolen too then just use those it will bolt right in - they hold anything and everything

if besty buy did it they may have cut out the factory harness plugs so you may have to hard wire it -

I used the best buy "compatibility guide" and it said it does not fit the celica -

you may have to call a junk yard or two! if it was my situation thats what I would wind up doing...

yea, my first stereo installation on the celica was a nightmare, DONT BUY ANY HARNESSES, if u allready have thats fine but i tried to different companies harnesses, 40 dollars each set ( 2 in each set [one connecting to the celica and the other to the radio]) both sets failed and i had to hardwire everything,

the hardest part is to not get the power wires mixed up, there is one power wire coming from your celica that only gets power when the parking lights and headlights are on, and there is another power wire that is always on unless you shut off the car.

So when you hook up the stereo make sure you dont have the headlights on and everyhting should go smoothly, its actually really easy if you have wire strippers and such...

OOO btw for the mounts your gonna have to go to a junkyard because im almost positive no one sells the actual stock mounts.

so could I get summed up exactly what I'm going to need? Since everything got stolen basically, it'll be like starting from scratch. I'm aware that I'll need something to fill in the double din slot since the stereo is only a single din. I know best buy sells something that does fit, because they gave me something when i had my stereo installed there in the first place. I also have a wire harness adapter and i already have everything taped off, all i need to do is solder for the most part.

Edit:

IPB Image
The stereo

IPB Image
heres the back, for the little blue circle auxiliary input could i take an auxiliary cable from that and plug it into my ipod? i don't feel like spending 50 bucks on a stupid ipod interface thing.

IPB Image
all of the wires on my wiring harness adapter match up perfectly except the system remote control wires, should i cut the wire coming from the Pioneer wire harness and solder it to the harness adapter? the ground wires don't match up either but i understand both of those will need to be separately grounded and the mute wire i'll tape off or something

that input SHOULD work fine -

soldering/splicing those blue wires is fine too -

I just realize now you'll have a 1 din hole in your car... hmmm i suppose you could get creative with cup holders (out of a ford taurus), buy a new "bs holder" from a junk yard along with your two brackets, or whatever else you wanna spend money on

Or if you cant find something to fill the hole, make something. cut a piece of plexiglass/lexan and paint it the color of your choice and use that as a "blank" - attach it to the back of the bezel piece with some epoxy (or something)

P.S - when you call the junk yards i would call the pieces "radio brackets from the dashboard" and "the storage pocket under the radio" so they have a good idea of what your talking about

EDIT: One more thing! I've learned from friends and personal experience that when your car gets broken into the thief will almost always return to see what you bought to replace what he stole originally! Keep the radio face out of the car so if/when he comes back he at least doesn't get a radio out of it!

call up your local toyota dealership, you just ask for a right and left mount for an aftermarket headunit.... about 5 bucks apice, and just ask for one screw and take it to autozone/ or a hardware store and get the matching ones for a lot cheaper*

you also may want to buy a "spacer/slot" it mounts ither above or below the headunit, theres one w/ a door for around $35 or w/o a door for $7

thanks guys. i think i'm heading off to the toyota dealership today to get the OEM mounts and i'm gonna swing by best buy and ask them for the same piece they used to fill the extra slot from my other pioneer stereo.

oh, and another thing while i'm at it, my stock alarm system is disconnected (it was when i bought my car) how would i go about reconnecting it. i don't really know much about the stock system and i do not have a remote or anything to turn it off, so i'm pretty lost.

i never think about that, theres something about dealerships that screams rip off, junkyard would prolly be cheaper, and if its not just go there in person and ask to get a screw/bulb yourself and jack the radio mounts, they fit in your pocket.

look for something called "iso" mounting, thats what those brackets are called i believe, the 2 blue wires are for your amp, one with spade end is hot, one without is not, you can run that to the amps remote separately or tape off if you dont have subs, if you need mounting pieces, i think i still have mine from when i had a single din radio, new they are like $15-30 depending on where you go, but if you want mine its urs

heres what the kit looks like, i got one with a pocket wink.gif

If you are talking about the AUX pwr blue wires.... there is a double connector for a reason. 1 is to power your amp and the other side is to power your antenna.
I have a Pioneer myself....

I have that same deck and its a great deck. I would recommend the Ipod Interface so that you could use the remote to go through songs and albums, but it takes awhile. You have to scroll all the way through.

The remote wire is only necessary to use if you have an aftermarket amp.
