Just a thought guys regards the side markers. I'd always assumed these were of the type of construction where the lens was solvent glue bonded to the backing, much like the Supra MK3 side repeaters which have proved very popular. With these, I had to precision cut the 2 parts apart to make a mould for the lenses.
Owners then perform some surgery to cut and remove the amber before refitting the amber. Link below show what's involved...... http://www.mkiiisupra.net/bbs/showthread.p...ed=1#post169759 http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f11/wolf...ontsandside.jpg As this is a bit of a PITA, I hadn't considered offering them for the Celi and also you can get the clear crystal or diamond cut Ricey type probably cheaper for the whole units than I could supply the lenses for. However if they can be split in the oven without damaging either part and there is sufficient interest, I'm sure I could do them quite easily Snapshot gt has been on at me for ages to do some for him, but I always assumed it would be too much hassle. so, would there be sufficient interest. If I decided to do them, if somebody could sent me a pair of originals, I would send them a pair of clear lenses FOC Let me know what you reckon -------------------- Has your car ever been on T.V? Mine was used in the opening sequences here - note the clear turns and front LED's

I would very interested in buying a set of clear oem-style side markers from you Wolfie. In fact, I already bought a set of clear turn signals from protocast myself and have it here at home waiting. I want to put them on but I didn't like the way the diamond-cut procarparts.com style side markers looked, it just wouldn't look oem to me. So....i'll be anxiously waiting till you sell the first sets of side markers

I'm was going hold off on installing the clear turns till Wolfie makes and sells the first batch of side markers. I didn't want to buy diamond-cut side markers because I don't like how the light bulb is exposed. So, until he makes the clear oem-style ones, i'm not going to install the clear turn signal yet. And if your wondering how the turn signals look, fanboy has it installed on his celi. He won those in some kind of contest (I think), where I bought mines at full price. Very good oem quality though, so it's all good.
hey, how much time and money do you think it would cost to make these sidemarkers clear? they are for a scion tc (toyota). the shape is simple but i wanted the stock pattern on the reflector. let me know.
Hmmm......interesting. I don't usually do stuff that I don't have a home or European market for, but always have an eye open for new ideas. First question of course is how many people would buy them? How do you extract the amber part? Can you split the unit in the oven or does it have to be cut out from the rear. I'd the dimensions of the lens to be able to cost the mould making, but I'd guess around $700 inc labour at my standard development rate and materials. Might be worth me posting on the Scion owners club forum Back on the side markers, I still need confirmation they can be oven split and then the dimensions before I can cost them. Only then can I decide if it's worth doing. I generally want 10 firm orders before commencing, but only after I've first given a best guess price. Come back with the answers and we'll see what we can do. Hey Netrata, glad they arrived safely .... don't hang about getting the fronts done cos these might not come off - and we want to see pics on your car. -------------------- Has your car ever been on T.V?
