EDIT>
First post.. this a quote from a local guy when i asked him about the supras map sensor. "MKIV's dont really have MAP sensors. They run on a MAF from the factory, but they do have a "turbo pressure sensor" that doesnt do anything other than tell the ECU when it overboosts." Is that what im looking for? i'd use ebay and grab a supra one.
the mr2 only had it on that 3rd gen, so they ask like 200 the 2jz used map in japan, and the 1jz uses map since most people want to be able to run more than 14-18psi, they upgrade, so they got for cheaper you owe me, biach -------------------- |

All 3sgte (1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen) have MAP sensor even though the 1st and 2nd gen doesn't use the sensor for the purpose of fueling like in the speed density system on the 3rd gen. You can find a used one from 2nd gen on MR2OC and alltrac.net

Yes, the MKIV run on MAF, not speed density (MAP based)
However, similar to 1st and 2nd gen 3sgte, they do have "turbo pressure sensor" for fuel cut and what not. (the only different is that 1st and 2nd gen 3sgte use VAM not MAF sensor) Toyota call it "turbo pressure sensor", but it is actually a "MAP sensor" BTW, SC300 (or IS300) does not have what you need. It is 1JZGE, not 1JZGTE. (2JZGE in IS300) So it has "vacuum sensor" instead of "turbo pressure sensor" This post has been edited by Gary: Jun 10, 2007 - 10:38 AM -------------------- _Gary

QUOTE(mr2oc.com) It needs to be the MAP sensor from a gen II 3sgte. If in doubt check the part number on the MAP sensor itself. 2bar MAP SENSOR(factory 3s) Part # 84420-17030 If I remember correctly it is not a standard 2 bar MAP sensor and the one from the gen III is not the same either. EDIT: it might also be the part number 89420-17030 This post has been edited by 6strngs: Jun 10, 2007 - 11:21 AM -------------------- 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |
