okay so jsut a few simple questions that someone can answer for me...gauges....speedometer gauges...

http://www.andysautosport.com/toyota/1994_...fa00124795.html

lets jsut use that as a example.......

now im familiar with taking the speedometer out and switching up the bulbs and what not...

as for instilation of that thing....do i jsut need to open everything up and take off the old numbers/faces and put the new ones on?

and that will automatically make it light up that blue and waht not????

or is there more to it than meets the eye? do i need special bulbs with that? or do they provide them???

just pretty much a explination of all this would be great!

thanks

no bulb needed...although u still need the three bulbs for lighting up ur needles...yup just take out the old one and put the new ones on...but be careful though u might wanna take a picture of the needles positions and put tem back exactly where they were so that the measurements are still accurate...hope that helps.

the position actually only matters on your temp/ gas gauge
hell i broke my gas gauge off in the process of putting on my reverse gauges and superglued it to empty lol
but when you put your needles back on, turn your car onto accessory mode. then put on the needles otherwise your MPH's will be comically off.

good luck!

well putting the key to acc only works with rpm, for the odometer i had to recalibrate the damn thing..

Dont take off your your needles! the holes in the middle of the indiglo guages are actucally oversized a little bit and the reason is for you to slide them over your needles without having to take them off. you could fold the guages into a sort of taco and slide them over the needles. I took my needles off and had a hard time getting them to recalibrate them. It wassent till i took them off that i noticed the what the oversized holes were for. kindasad.gif

1. you don't need change/swap anything
2. those three bulbs you have will illuminate needles and millage counters
3. don't remove anything!!! (needles, stock gauge "faces", NOTHING!)
4. just slide those over needles (it's possible, I have made it twice already wink.gif)
5. ...so if you one day would like to remove them you will still have unharmed stock gauges under

hope it's clear wink.gif

What about if you've got the ones with the wires coming out of the aftermarket faces? I bought some from ProCarParts and they have a switch that goes with them as well, to hook them up and whatnot? Do you have to do that?

And wires are connected like this (black to black/white and red to green, so those two at sides):

the new gauges will slip right over, only the older ones needed needle removal... you just need a steady hand

Yeah I was just wondering if anyone had tried to see what it looks like if you cut the wires and just put them in that way? And/or if anyone had taken the needles out and put them on the aftermarket faces and discarded the oem faces? I actually sucessfully got the needle out but it was too small for the hole in the aftermarket faces...so it'd probably need a bit of glueing. In the end I'm probably just gonna not use them at all.
