Synthetic is great stuff. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 10w-30 as well, however I might try Royal Purple synthetic. I've read articles in Modified and SCC claiming this stuff is lightyears beyond other synthetics on the market. Its loaded with tons more of the additives that make synthetic great in the first place, which makes sense considering they arent a petroleum company trying to sell oil but a performance company trying to improve something.
I'll try RP someday soon, but tommorrow I'm going to put in some fresh Mobil 1 just for now....need clean oil before I spend the weekend driving the balls out of it. ![]() -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

Ive got almost 190,000 and only a tiny leak but it doesnt even leak enough to drip out onto the ground, but is it true that if you are using regular oil and you switch to full synthetic will you notice leaks that might have clogged themselves with the thicker oil?

I am switching from regular to synthetic today. I have 94K and no previous oil burnings or leaks of any sort.

Standard oil today lasts longer than 3000 miles and full synthetic can last you up to 15,000 miles so IMO its a waste of money if your changing your synthetic oil every 3,000. I use Mobil 1 10W 30 and I change it every 5,000.
