QUOTE(RbrtNdrws @ Aug 16, 2007 - 6:51 PM)

I really need one of these. What's TTE mean anyway?

Toyota Team Europe. It is a Toyota division that is currently based in Köln, Germany. TTE was responsible for Toyota's World Rally Championship cars starting from the 1970s right up to the 1990s. In 1999 TTE stopped participating in rallying, in order to prepare a switch to Formula 1 in 2002.

TTE was started in London in 1972 as a partnership between Ove Andersson (Monte Carlo Rally winner in 1971) and Toyota. Toyota wanted to promote their company, and the new Toyota Celica in particular, as a rally-bred car company. In autumn of that year, Anderson entered the RAC Rally with the Toyota Celica and beat a number of top teams including most of the other Japanese teams (mostly racing the Datsun 240z) to come 9th.

Various Toyota Celicas went on to win 6 drivers' championships and three constructor's championships (TTE also one one championship with a Corrola 1600). Notable non-WRC TTE wins include the 24 Hours of Le Mans: the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans. Notable TTE losses include the banning of TTE in 1996 following alegations of cheating in the WRC wink.gif

In 1973, TTE moved to Uppsala, Sweden then Brussels, Belgium; in 1979 a second office was opened (in Cologne) and in 1987 moved again to its current location in Köln. It employs 300 people in a 17000m2 factory and recently renamed itself to Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG).

In 1997, it became the first motorsports business in the world to be awarded the ISO 9001 label for the quality of its operations.

I have one trd left.
The TTE are available for about another week.
All are being clear anodized (alluminum color)
they are $75.00 each. Should be back next week,
ready to ship. When these are gone, I won't be
making anymore, when I do they will be my logo,
RBN Speed Concepts and possably one other.
I won't do anymore TRD.

BTW TRD stands for totally randys design not toyota
racing development. wink.gif The logos do look similar though.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Sory for that! But what if we make a list of members that also want the "Hood Rain Deflector" maybe then 97lestyousay can make some for us..
Is just a thought and ofcourse we should wait for 97lestyousay to confirm it!

That's weird - I just PM'd him about this yesterday. He said he has no more. And if you read back a bit he says he must aquire his own machine before he can make anymore. If you know anything about CNCs you know they cost a buttload of cash so IDK how long it will take.
Randy - I work in a CNC shop. Perhaps there is something I can do to help you get more made? You def have some interest here.

Depending on the model/age and how many axis, they aren't terribly expensive. The tooling is the expensive part.

At the price he is selling them at, to outsource to a shop wouldn't really be cost effective for him. Plus if he puts the investment down on his own machine he can do a lot of other custom parts as well.

I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, I have been really busy lately.
I am not making anymore at least not on a cnc mill. I could probably outsource
them to a waterjet place I know, I wouldn't do the trd ever again. I have spoken to Jeff
about making some that say RCR in the same lettering style as the wrc, and cut
completly through so there would be no painting involved. If ten or more people
want them I could probably make it happen. Thanks for the compliments btw. smile.gif
